The Healthy Facilities Institute (HFI) recognizes Advanced Vapor Technologies (AVT) as a Research Champion
HFI's Research Champion criteria include:
Company must have peer-reviewed research supporting efficacy claims;
Company must demonstrate that protecting public health is a key part of its operations or mission statement;
Company must have at least two public health scientists supporting its claims and providing a reference or testimonial.
AVT provides to the facilities community a steam vapor sanitation device with extensive supporting science showing efficacy, including peer-reviewed research. In addition to field measurements showing efficacy in ATP reduction, the independent scientific data supporting AVT's marketing claims are freely available on their website.
"Advanced Vapor Technologies sets a good example in testing to prove its claims for healthier surface sanitizing and disinfecting," said Benjamin D. Tanner, Ph.D., President, Microchem Laboratories.
"The data indicate the TANCS® Steam Vapor System is more effective and faster than topically applied chemical disinfectants without the associated risks for people," said Dr. David Mudarri, former EPA senior scientist.
“Research indicates that steam vapor sanitation (SVS) can be an effective intervention in critical environments such as healthcare,” said Dr. Charles P. Gerba, an internationally recognized environmental microbiologist and Professor of Environmental Microbiology in the Departments of Microbiology and Immunology, and Soil, Water and Environmental Science, at the University of Arizona. Dr. Gerba was one of the scientists that participated in peer-reviewed research on steam vapor published in the American Journal of Infection Control (AJIC).
